OWN IT Nepal is a one-day leadership summit that connects young women with accomplished female leaders in Nepal. This initiative aims to provide an inclusive platform for women from diverse backgrounds to engage, learn, and grow.

The summit gathers 300 passionate young women aged 18 to 26 who are eager to enhance their leadership abilities and aspire to be future leaders in their communities and beyond, envisioned as the changemakers of Nepal, aiming to redefine traditional views on women’s roles in society. OWN IT Nepal 2026 aims to motivate participants from diverse fields, including arts, social sciences, sciences, business, journalism, politics, and public service, cultivating a united effort to promote national advancement.

How is OWN IT Nepal different from other events?

OWN IT Nepal stands out for its four core values: leadership, accessibility, inclusivity, and feminism. Feminism is central to our mission and vision, as we aim to celebrate and nurture fearless feminist leaders who are committed to advancing gender equality and building a more equitable Nepal for everyone.

Through OWN IT Nepal, we seek not only to create space for meaningful conversations on
issues relevant to Nepal, but also to ensure that leaders remain accessible and accountable to the community. The event features a mainstage panel discussion that all participants attend together. Following this, participants can select one of various breakout sessions during registration, allowing them to engage more deeply with topics that interest them after the mainstage panel.

Breakout Sessions

Panel Discussions are topic-based discussions where speakers will discuss their experiences within the subject area as a woman and leader. Speakers will draw heavily from personal experiences and real-world examples.

Workshops are hands-on sessions with the goal of teaching a singular skill or skill set and how it relates to success or leadership. These sessions will be more interactive, rather than lecture-style.

Office hours are casual conversations with a small group about the speaker’s personal and professional experiences. These sessions will be largely question-and-answer in format. Participants should possess an interest in perhaps one day pursuing a career in the speaker’s field!

Speed Mentoring are short one-on-one conversation with a mentor who will provide guidance and clarity on personal or professional questions.
