To create a transformative and enduring impact, Women LEAD Nepal embarked on an initiative to reach new communities this year. By offering programs that empower young women to emerge as leaders, challenge gender norms, and champion their rights, Women LEAD Nepal conducted two outreach projects in Lamjung, Gandaki Province, concurrently, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering gender equality and empowering the next generation of change-makers.
From April 21st to 25th of 2024, the Youth for Youth Leadership (Y4Y) program was held at Shree Sanskriti Sadan Secondary School in Duradanda, Lamjung, with 26 participants aged between 12 and 15. Concurrently, the Young Women’s Leadership Program took place at Shree Sarbodaya Higher Secondary School in Duradanda, Lamjung, with 24 participants aged between 14 and 24. Both programs covered sessions on various topics, including teamwork, leadership and followership, time management, gender stereotypes, public speaking, gender-based violence, human rights and child rights, consent, goal setting, and career counseling, to name a few.
