Position Overview:
Women LEAD Nepal seeks a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented individual passionate about women’s leadership and youth empowerment to bring a systematic approach to the internal processes across the organization. The Program Officer – Alumni and Public Engagement will assist in implementing key initiatives at Women LEAD Nepal, focusing on alumni engagement interventions, public engagement programs, and event coordination. The role will involve supervising activities related to networking among the Women LEAD Nepal’s alumni community. The officer will design and implement capacity-building programs, motivate the alumni to mentor the new batches of program participants, and introduce them to new concepts and ideas. The officer will assist in the conduction of public engagement programs. This will provide greater public outreach and engagement for Women LEAD Nepal. The officer will collaborate with the leadership team to ensure effective alumni outreach, retention, and active involvement in Women LEAD Nepal’s initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Alumni Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase alumni participation in ongoing and new programs.
- Create engaging and interactive events that will encourage alumni to stay connected to Women LEAD Nepal.
- Foster a sense of community among alumni by coordinating networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and other alumni-centric events.
- Regularly communicate with alumni through newsletters, social media, and events to keep them engaged and informed.
Public Engagement:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing programs for a greater number of the general public. The Officer will ensure smooth logistics, useful and practical knowledge and high-quality experiences for participants.
- Supervise the execution of alumni-related activities within these events, including facilitating alumni panels, speed mentoring sessions, and leadership workshops.
Program Supervision:
- Supervise the competitive grant funding process for alumni, including the application and selection process, and track the progress of funded projects.
- Support alumni-led initiatives, offering guidance and resources to help them succeed in their personal and professional endeavors.
Idea Generation and Program Innovation:
- Create new ideas and programs to further engage alumni, ensuring that their needs and professional growth are met.
- Design and implement initiatives to ensure a long-term connection between alumni and Women LEAD Nepal, including virtual meet-ups, workshops, and alumni success stories.
- Stay informed of trends and opportunities in alumni relations and event coordination to introduce innovative methods of engagement.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of alumni programs and events, using feedback and data to continuously improve alumni engagement strategies.
- Provide regular updates on alumni activities and engagement levels to the senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Community Development, Development Studies or any other relevant field
- At least 2 years of experience in program design, implementation and management, event coordination and stakeholder relation & retention.
- Experience working with young women, ideally in a leadership development or social impact context.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of people.
- Ability to generate creative ideas and solutions to engage alumni and develop meaningful programs.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for empowering young women and advancing gender equality.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with social media platforms and online engagement strategies.
- Experience with event management tools and alumni tracking systems.
- Knowledge of mentoring and leadership development practices.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
