The Young Women’s Political Leadership Institute (YWPLI) is an eleven-month long program designed to enable young women to be part of public service through political leadership training, workshops, and conversations around Nepal’s federal democratic processes.

Fee: Rs 5,000/-
Footnote: The fee can be paid in a lump sum after admittance to the course. The fee covers all course materials, a completion certificate, free lunches, unlimited access to our Chautara Resource Center, and exclusive access to Women LEAD’s alumni community and events.

Program Duration: 11 months
Program Capacity: 20 seats

YWPLI starts with two weeks of skill-building workshops, where participants gain foundational knowledge about Nepal’s federal democratic system and the political processes of the country. Fellows will also learn essential professional skills in political organization like delivering effective messages, networking skills, and developing effective campaign plans.

Fellows will volunteer approximately 25 hours with a female leader, where they will be exposed to field experience with local representatives or Mayors outside the valley.

The three-months long internship will ensure participants practice their political learnings with women leaders like female parliament members, Singha Durbar, Deputy Mayor, and Ministers.

Fellows conceptualize and implement their own project around the theme of political activism and receive the guidance and skills to carry out their project.

The program concludes with a graduation ceremony.
