Women LEAD Nepal is looking for a creative, organized, and detailed-oriented individual who has a strong interest in women’s rights to work directly with the Programs Team as their Programs Officer. They will assist the Programs Team with the two flagship programs; LEAD Course and Young Women’s Political Leadership Institute (YWPLI) and alumni programs. The Programs Officer will join the team at a critical time of organizational growth. This position will allow individuals to be creative, innovative and develop an in-depth understanding of young women in leadership.

 Women LEAD Nepal is one of the first development organizations for young women in Nepal. Since 2011, we have empowered more than 3,000 young women with the skills, support and opportunities needed to become leaders in their schools, communities, and nation.  DUTIES OF THE PROGRAMS OFFICER:

  • Assist with day-to-day logistics required for smooth and timely program implementation
  • Coordinate the procurement and production of all program materials
  • Translate documents and program materials into Nepali
  • Assist with programmatic communications (ie. writing parents’ newsletters and sending out SMS reminders)
  • Assist with facilitating workshops and organizing field trips
  • Conduct Sessions, co-facilitate workshops, and mentor participants
  • Strengthen relationships with partner schools and organizations, and represent Women LEAD Nepal at networking events
  • Assist with event managements 
  • Support program heads with other duties as assigned 
  • Track and document program activities for SWC and donor reporting and compliance
  • Maintain participant databases for all major programs
  • Assist with the administration of program surveys, and manage the filing and data entry and management processes
  • Assist with impact evaluation processes, including conducting focus groups, key informant interviews and control groups as-needed
  • Conduct/ support in conducting program baselines and debriefs
  • Alumni Projects: Assisting with piloting, evaluating and establishing alumni related projects

  • Excellent communication skills: Candidates are expected to be well presented, articulate and professional at all times. They must be confident with program participants and staff alike and have strong communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Team working: Candidates must be able to demonstrate common sense in prioritizing and managing workload effectively. They will be the central contact for the program management side of the office and there will be great calls on your time from members of staff. The role will require multitasking.
  • Attention to detail: Women LEAD Nepal prides itself on the quality of its deliverables, whether its an email, a Facebook post, a presentation to a partner organization or simply  the condition of the office environment. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s graduate or in the final year of Bachelor’s.
  • Minimum of two years professional experience of program delivery
  • A detailed understanding of the needs of young women in Nepal
  • MEAL skill is preferred
